Qualifications We are searching for a proactive individual, who has a strong, proven work ethic High School Degree or higher Minimum 18 years of age Clean and valid Driver’s License Own a reliable vehicle to make it to work Must have general knowledge of all aspects of agriculture functions Strong mechanical skills a plus Knowledge of ranch farming equipment and ability to use industrial ranch tools Must be personable, well groomed, and non-smoker Interactions with guests/clients are required Ability to respond/communications in a timely manner Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and focus attention on details and complete tasks Ability to work cohesively with others as part of a team Ability to physically perform all duties required – heavy lifting, work in hot or inclement weather Able to work a flexible schedule as seasonal duties demand We are looking for a team player that communicates effectively and efficiently with other guides and staff, and our guests This is not an entry level position and does require past experiences with hunting and with a preference given to those that have elk hunting experience in various terrains Please do not apply if you cannot obtain a Montana State Board of Outfitters Guides License, see the following requirements: (https://boards.bsd.dli.mt.gov/_docs/out/guide-app.pdf) | Responsibilities Ranch Hand performs duties to assist in the daily operations of the ranch in maintaining all livestock and Ranch facilities Maintain and fix ranch fences Running a variety of equipment from tractors and trucks to ATV, etc. Haying/feeding Farming/plowing/seeding Cattle operations: calving, feeding doctoring, etc Irrigation: setting canvas damns, checking pivots Clean shop and equipment Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; and performing preventive maintenance Assists where ever needed to help with ranch operations Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by us During the fall months, this individual will be part of the elk hunt team Looking for someone with previous elk rifle and archery hunting experience including calling during guiding Work with the current elk hunt team participate in scouting, putting up blinds, retrievals, skinning, etc It is important that the person filling this role is in excellent physical condition and able to work long hours in various weather conditions Some ranching duties may need to be covered in hunting season as well, we will still pay guide wages when that happens. |
