Our rates are very competitive with top class service. Our Location near Yellowstone Park can provide a variety of fun adventures for just about anyone who wishes to experience some Montana's finest wide open spaces.FLY FISHERMENDome Mountain Lodge and Cabins have been located on the banks of the upper stretches of the Yellowstone River with over 5 miles of exclusive access to arguably one of the river's most unique stretches.  We offer packages to suit just about anyone from long weekend get aways to week long fully guided all inclusive packages.  We live right on the river year round and have become intimately familiar with it's hatches and different stretches.  Beginner fly fishers are also most welcome.  We have special programs designed to help you live that dream of learning to fly fish.  All of our guides and staff are completely focused on your learning experience and point to all our return clients who "became" fly fishers and now enjoy endless summers with us each season.  Our private lakes and easily accessible waters within walking distance of your cabin allow you and your friends the opportunity to take your time as you learn this wonderful art and passion we call fly fishing.  -"JB, his guides and entire staff are some of the last true 'fishing bums' who still love fishing for fishing" -Guest CommentLODGING AND MEALS Modern western cabins are located near the main historic river side flyfishing lodge and pool area, all within walking distance of the river and easily accessed from Bozeman airport.  Our All Inclusive packages include lodging in the cabins, home cooked meals by acclaimed chef Lennae Klyap, and also offer packed lunches for you to take with you on your adventures to Yellowstone or fishing on your own for the day.  We offer a very economical program, yet offer years of knowledge and experience in an effort to provide you with the best vacation experience possible.  Hunters are attracted to one of the last private land holdings north of Yellowstone National Park, which offers great opportunity for big, Montana trophy elk and mule deer.  We limit the amount of hunters we take each season so there is never a concern about overcrowding or lack of personal attention.  We boast nearly a 75% return client rate. The Ranch itself is managed primarily for the resident and migratory game herds from Yellowstone National Park and other surrounding areas which lack sufficient forage due to mismanagement.  As a fair chase hunt, we offer solid opportunities for those seeking a no-nonsense hardcore elk hunt in some of Montana's most rugged country.  It is not unusual to see nearly 1,000 elk during your time with us as our hunters will confirm. Our success rates are relevant to your own preparedness and physical condition.  This combined with a willingness to trust and believe in a hard working, knowledgeable and friendly crew will provide you with the hunt of a lifetime. We utilize horses and often operate from our main lodge and combine the private property with excellent access to a number of wilderness and forest service areas.  Much of our use area is along the borders of Yellowstone National Park northerly to the area near Six Mile Creek.  Our hunts include all the details and quality our hunters refer to as the perfect fair chase hunt.ARCHERY HUNTS: Have become one of our most sought after hunts due to the amount of game rich area and exciting opportunities.  All of our bow hunting guides have a solid background and are accomplished callers and very mature. We spend a great deal of time scouting and watching the local herds.  The Outfitter and Guides have developed an intimate familiarity with trails, bedding areas, grazing and rutting grounds, wallows and rub lines.  The serious bow hunter will find a bow hunt with Dome Mountain Outfitters is a heart pounding no kidding great time.  Opportunity is endless with the lack of outside pressures.  Hunters often comment that they felt "a part of the hunt" each and every moment.  We utilize a number of techniques and services to put you in the right spot at the right time and make you feel as if your experience is more important than anything else. We often offer specials for bow hunters-please visit our main website at www.domemountainranch.com in order to stay up to date.RIFLE HUNTS utilize much of the same country, however due to our careful hunting style and management strategies we have successfully began to "predict" through scientific research, weather patterns and other factors as to the actual herd numbers and around the ranch. We operate on a 4 week season, with several days break in between each hunt.  We limit the amount of hunters we take each week so that every week is a good week for a hunter at Dome Mountain Ranch.  Often elk will migrate into our area not only from Yellowstone National Park, but from surrounding areas where public access via secondary roads has pushed elk into more secure areas.  We hunt a "no-spike", so hunters must harvest a branch antlered bull.  Mule Deer on the ranch have began to show nice size for the area we hunt.  Southwest Montana is not well known for large mule deer, however, our own careful science based management has allowed us to offer hunters an extra incentive with nearly 100% opportunity to hunt trophy class Mule Deer and some good white tails.   WHAT ABOUT THE WOLVES?  As the outfitter of Dome Mountain Ranch with nearly 30 years of experience in the outdoors and 200 some odd days a year actively hunting or guiding,  I can honestly say that the wolf introduction has "effected" the patterns of elk, which includes bedding areas, feeding grounds and otherwise habits which elk have long used for the past 50 years-however, as a "hunter" my personal observations and time in the field has shown me that some adjustments in our techniques and habits have changed the way we now hunt elk. "  We have spent the last 5 seasons compiling our own data which includes accurate counts from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, and also direct notes from our guides and staff as daily field manuals. Our secret has been to just "shut up and hunt"-as a result, we have happy clients each and every season who recognize our efforts.  For more information please listen to an interview between JB Klyap and Ed Bangs regarding the wolf reintroduction. "Outfitter JB Klyap really stuck his neck out in an effort to maintain ethics in the much heated debate centered in southwest Montana-"Listener comment 2007".  This link can be found on our website.   JB has been featured on national television shows which include "Elk Country Journal", "BASSPRO Shops", "Reel Outdoors", "Cabela's Outdoor Adventures", "The Travel Channel" and many more.  In addition, JB is an active seminar speaker for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.Dome Mountain Ranch prides itself on exhibiting the highest of standards for all their clients and invite you to join in an adventure.
