Each year, the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission chooses one organization to auction off a Shiras Moose Tag. The winner of the auction is allowed to hunt anywhere in the state where there is an open moose season. For the 2024 hunting season, the Montana Outfitters and Guides Association (MOGA) was awarded the Governor’s Shiras Moose Tag.
This unique and once-in-a-lifetime moose hunting opportunity will be made available to the highest bidder during MOGA’s Big Hearts Under the Big Sky Benefit Auction, scheduled for January 13, 2024, in Helena, Montana.
How to Bid:
For more information on the opportunity to bid on the Shiras Moose tag. The live auction will be held during the Big Hearts Benefit Auction on January 13th, 2024 in Helena, MT. Online bidding will be available.
Legislation authorizes the Fish & Wildlife Commission to provide for the auction of one moose license each year. This license authorizes the hunter to take an antlered bull moose in any open district of his/her choice. If this license holder is successful, the moose will not be counted against the district quota. License holders may hunt only in areas open to moose hunting.
In addition to the Montana Govenor’s Moose tag, we are pleased to announce a partnership with SITKA and Kenetrek Boots for a “hunter’s system” valued at $1,859 to the winner of the online/ in person auction that will be held on Saturday, January 13th at the Big Hearts Under the Big Sky banquet.
